Celtic Creative | Curated Travel
A few good questions, answered.
Travel planning should feel clear from the start. Here’s what to expect when you work with Deanna and Celtic Creative.
Who you are, and why you can help
Aren’t travel agents long gone?+
The role has evolved. Through a modern travel agency, I have the booking tools, training, partner network, and advisor community to support your trip well. You can still research and stay involved while I provide recommendations, manage bookings and logistics, and may be able to access added benefits. You have a real person to help before, during, and after booking.
How long have you been doing this?+
I’ve been the unofficial travel agent for friends and family for my entire adult life, and I’ve been advising professionally since 2025. I’m also supported by my agency’s training, booking tools, partner network, and advisor community. If I need to confirm something, I’ll be honest and find the right answer rather than guess.
Why use an advisor at all?
Can’t I just book this myself?+
You can. Booking through me may allow me to request VIP recognition and available perks, such as room upgrades, hotel credits, or complimentary breakfast, often at the same rate you would find by booking directly. Send me what you are considering and I can tell you what I may be able to add.
I love doing my own research.+
Great, keep doing it. You do not have to give up the parts you enjoy. Bring me what you find, and I can help compare options, manage the moving pieces, and take care of bookings so I can add any available perks. You stay in control, and I help make the trip easier to execute.
Price and value
Is it more expensive to use a travel advisor?+
In most cases, booking through me costs the same as booking on your own. I’m compensated by the hotels and travel partners I work with, not by you, and your hotel room will usually cost the same as it does on the hotel website. Send me what you found and I can compare the options with you.
Can you get me a better rate or a discount?+
Usually, the rate matches booking direct, and I’m not in the discount business. The value I may be able to add sits on top of the rate: available upgrades, breakfast, credits, and VIP recognition. Send me what you found and I’ll tell you honestly how the rate and benefits compare.
How is this different from my credit card travel portal?+
A credit card portal can be useful, especially when you want to use points or a card-specific benefit. Working with me gives you a person who can help compare the full picture: the rate, available benefits, flexibility, loyalty eligibility, and the support you may need if plans change.
Will I still earn my hotel loyalty points?+
You can usually keep your status and continue earning hotel loyalty points on eligible rates booked through me. You are not necessarily trading one for the other, and I can confirm the details for your specific booking before we move forward.
What I can help with
What can you book?+
Hotels, cruises, tours, transfers, and the pieces in between. I can also be your sounding board for where to go, where to stay, what is worth the money, and what to skip. Tell me what you are planning and which parts you would like off your plate.
What happens if something changes or goes wrong?+
You can contact me, and I’ll help you understand the options and work with the travel partner when support is needed. I cannot control every policy or outcome, but you will have a real person who knows the booking and can help you navigate the next step.
Can you help if I’ve already booked?+
Sometimes I’m able to add my perks and VIP status to existing client bookings. It depends on the hotel or cruise line’s policies, but if you send me your booking confirmation, I’m happy to check.
Do you only do big or expensive trips?+
Of course not. One hotel night counts, and so does a weekend close to home. Big trips are wonderful, but plenty of my work is a single well-chosen hotel or a simple work trip. There is no minimum, and I would rather you ask than assume.
What if I don’t know where I want to go yet?+
That is a great time to talk to me. A big part of what I do is help narrow the options before you fall down a research hole. Tell me roughly when you want to go, who is traveling, and what kind of trip you are in the mood for, and we can start there.
Still deciding?
